Business Storytelling book sold out in Asia

My book ‘Business Storytelling’ is sold out in Asia. 🥳 This is both good and bad…

Good, because it means the book actually sold. Which most books don’t.

Bad, because it’s temporarily unavailable (in bookstores in Asia). While it’s sold out in bookstores, the Amazon print-on-demand version is still available for purchase online.

Really good, because it’s a chance to reflect and renew the book 🥳

New edition with chapters on AI & VR

Business Storytelling from Hype to Hack is distributed in Asia by Penguin Random House India. The publisher, Pippa Rann Books & Media (PRBM), has requested a reprint — as a new and expanded edition.

The new Business Storytelling book will include a chapter on Storytelling in VR and Storytelling with AI.

What are your questions to do with stories and VR / AI?

What should a (short) book on business storytelling cover around these topics?

Do you have cases I might include? Please share with me via my Linkedin – thank you!

Storytelling in Virtual Reality (VR)

Many uses of virtual reality do not include storytelling, nor should they. Retail and e-commerce use VR for virtual try-ons – customers can see how furniture fits in their home or how clothes look on their avatar before buying. Real estate offers immersive virtual property tours, eliminating the need for physical visits.

How should we differentiate between various uses of the technology? When should you storify VR, and when might storification backfire?

Effective training isn’t just about technical accuracy—it’s about engagement and realism. Many of these simulations are storified experiences, designed to create narrative transport (suspension of disbelief), where trainees feel fully immersed in the situation. Just as novelists use character, setting, and plot to draw readers into a story, these VR experiences incorporate contextual elements that heighten emotions and thinking.

When Mark Zuckerberg rebranded Facebook as Meta in 2021, he envisioned a fully immersive metaverse. But many serious businesses were put off by cartoonish avatars and floating aliens. That’s why my VR Storytelling partner Aumivi focuses on using 360° photography to capture real-world environments, from corporate headquarters to entire regions. Dubbed ‘the real-world metaverse,’ Aumivi allows users to explore real spaces virtually. Whether for corporate training, real estate, or tourism, this approach makes VR feel tangible and relevant—bringing the metaverse down to earth.

Storytelling with Artificial Intelligence (AI)

How does Artificial Intelligence help businesses level up their corporate storytelling?

Is using AI to write stories ‘cheating’?

Can AI coach me to be a better storyteller?

… and plenty more questions!

Anyway, for now…

Thank you for reading my business storytelling book!

Huge thanks to my readers, supporters and fellow business storytellers!

Let’s keep making stories work for us and for others at work.
